Summary of Responsibilities
Supervising FOH employees, scheduling, enforcing policies, procedures and standards, taking orders, serving food and drinks, answering questions about the menu and accommodating the guests, as well as suggestively selling food and drinks. Supervises the execution of and oversees all FOH operations, ensuring all standards of quality and service are met. Continually develops employees through training and follow up. Manage scheduled shifts for appropriate coverage to ensure guest satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
• Supervision of FOH staff
• Creates and posts a weekly schedule
• Reduces the risk of injury and accidents
• Verifies incident reports are completed immediately for any injured FOH employee
• Covers all uncovered absentees and handles that work
• Trains FOH employees
• Required to be on duty during peak hours
• Enforces standards, policies, and procedures
• Required to perform all duties/tasks to ensure restaurants cleanliness standards are being met accordingly
• Verifies that all work is completed at the end of every shift
• Responsible for all revenues at the end of the shift
• Must model a great attitude and show professionalism at all times
• Serves guests when necessary
• Answer questions about food and drinks including ingredients and preparation techniques
• Handles all wait staff responsibilities when needed
• Must be attentive to guests and responsive to any additional needs
Accountabilities:
• Inform franchisees of all issues, accomplishments and needs
• Take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action
• Create a positive working environment with positive actions
• Fulfill all responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with established company policies and procedures
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with all employees to foster and promote a cooperative working atmosphere, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency
Job Qualifications:
• Minimum 2-4 years restaurant/waiting/supervising experience
• Neat and well groomed appearance
• Must be available 6 days and 4-50 hours per week
• Must be able to operate P.O.S. computer system, make changes correctly and make credit card transactions accurately
• Knowledge of PC to fulfill closing/opening management functions
• Must be able to carry large trays and plates with food and clear tables, which may require lifting up to 30lbs
• Able to calmly respond to angry guests and notify a manager
• STands and walks during entire 6-8 hour shift
• Able to read menus to sight-impaired guests
• Able to reach, bend, stoop and perform cleaning duties
• Able to verbalize menu items clearly to guests while taking their orders and responding to their requests
• Able to hear amongst loud background noise
• Able to write and memorize orders
• Able to balance checkout at end of shift
• Able to communicate clearly and respond promptly to needs of guests, employees and consistently handle disciplinary actions
• Ability to maintain calm demeanor in a fast paced, high intensity environment
Judgment Required
• Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks, such as purchasing, receiving, and storing food products while maintaining required standards of operation in daily FOH activities
• Must make sound business decisions concerning labor, employee relations, staffing and training
• Must be able to interview and determine suitability based on experience and qualifications of FOH job applicants
General Responsibilities
• Complete, send and file all restaurant related paperwork
• Ensure customer satisfaction
• Approve all comps
• Oversee wait staff cash handling
• Make regular bank deposits
• Resolve all customer issues in a professional manner
• Coordinate and implement all opening and closing duties in the Front of the House
• Coordinate work schedule with Kitchen Manager to ensure one Manager/Supervisor is on site at all times
• Train and supervise Front of the House staff
• Hold monthly FOH staff meetings
• Manage retail inventory and do a physical count monthly
• Manage employee files
• Submit payroll in accordance with company policy
